I watched Touching Evil recently. It felt very dated at first but after the first couple of episodes that didn't bother me at all. I loved the whole thing a lot more than I expected to and I was quite sad to finish it. I loved the episode with the children and there were so many scenes in that ep that stood out. First the one where she is standing amongst the children in Albania and they all want her to pick them. The look on her face and the struggle she has at the moment really make me feel for her and them. You can see that she wants to save them all but she only has it in her power at that time to 'save' just one. I adore the way she defies her boss and I'm so sad for her when he later threatens her with her job for going against him. The way she takes her anger out on her desk. Fantastic scene. My heart breaks just watching it.
I also love the scene in a later ep when she comes face to face with the guy who killed Rivers, and Creegan talks her out of plunging the knife into his chest. Amazing acting!
Beautiful scene at the end too where the two officers are sort of hugging and crying on each others shoulders. It's really pretty because it sort of blurs with the surrounding car lights and they blend together before it fades to black. Brilliant. I really enjoy seeing the Creegan and Taylor dynamic on screen - they play off each other very well and I like how there doesn't have to be any romantic interest there. They connect as partners despite Creegan's lack of communicating. I would have loved to have seen more episodes.

^You just summed up all my favourite moments of the series under your spoiler tag there! That scene with those children was just heartbreaking. You could see the look of desperation and sheer horror written all over her face. And when she holds the knife to the throat of Mark's killer. Although this was one of Nicola's earlier roles, you can already see what she's capable of as an actress and how amazing and powerful her acting really is. The fact that it looked a bit outdated bothered me for about 5 minutes of the first episode I think. After that I didn't even notice. I definitely think the series improved as it progressed. Series 2 was much better than the first one, and by series 3 they were absolutely amazing. I think it could definitely have continued for longer than it did.

Finished series one and started series two the other night. I loved eps 1.1, 1.2 and especially 2.1 (where Susan got more characterisation imo). I didn't really like 1.3. It was a bit too gory for me and I felt like it relied on shock value more than the other eps did. I also noticed a difference in Nicola's acting from s1 to 2 so far 2.1 was very disturbing but also very well filmed. I think it is my fave episode so far.

OK I have decided to have a re-watch of Touching Evil for fun. What this will look like is to break up each episode as they have a part 1 and a part 2. This gives us 16 weeks to watch. What we will do is every Sunday/Monday (for the Aussie fans) is to post what we thought about each episode. Just like we would if we were to for Spooks. This way we have a week in which to watch the episode and then comment on Sunday/Monday. You can include screen caps and what not like normal. Let's start this Sunday Nov 20, 2011 gives people a chance to obtain a copy of the DVD's. If you can't contact me through message and I'll help you out. I know that this will run into the holidays no worries on that just post when you can for those weeks.
