watched this last night - you know what struck me straight off? how 'in charge' she is at the beginning... and hearing her talk out properly (as opposed to the spooks style almost whisper they get into). great story twist!

I don't think this was as amazing as Nicola in Luther (but let's fact it, that was pretty out of this world spectacular), but she was still really, really good. Her facial reactions seem so natural to how people act in day to day life. I feel like in her more recent stuff, her acting as suddenly elevated itself to almost completely indescribably perfect Also, Ruth in jeans. Yum.

Apparently ITV has switched the order of the L&O UK episodes, so Nicola's ep will now be the 3rd one and not the 1st. So Nicola's ep, called ID, will be shown on 21 March. This was confirmed by one of the writers and co-producer on Twitter:

Saw it on BBCA last week and she was fan-flippin-tastic! The last scene particularly was done with such subtlety and skill. Her instinct of how far to go without going OTT is perfect.
Mr. Euterpe has been looking sideways at me touting her as one of the best actors going these days. He enjoys Ruth as well, but this one left even him very impressed with her abilities. So much so as to want to dissect her performance after wards. No mean feat!

Oh she's just so brilliant in this! I really love her guest apperances as of late. She has such range. I'm quite in aw of her. I just wish that she was in more so I could watch her all the time.
