Torn was fantastic but oh. My. God. I won't be able to watch this again for a very long time. I saw the first episode when it was first on. Fine, fine, I could deal with that. I didn't get to see the second for two months and I knew the ending, so I cried the ENTIRE way through, even over small things :S after that emotional destruction (LOL) I didn't watch episode three for another three months... and I cried through that too Though if you get to see it, watch it it's worth it ^^ just make sure you have tissues and very little/no make-up on. It'll help

Graccy I'm with you on this one. I just watched it last night (so happy for a region free dvd player) and I did get teary eyed. Nicola's performance was fantastic hands down!!!!!!!!!! I really like how they totally made her look the part of someone with a lesser income compared to the other family. The raw emotions that you get from her performance is spot on. Too bad we could not nominate her for a BAFTA if I could I would have nominated her for an Emmy.
I'd have to give it some time before I watch it again cannot handle back to back viewing of it.
Defiantly worth watching!!

I watched part 1 yesterday evening. It's a really good, and sad, storyline, but to be honest I was really waiting for Nicola to show up. So 30 minutes in she finally appeared, and I was fascinated by her performance. The part where her character is in her flat, crying, was amazing. Of course we already know that Nicola can cry convincingly (Spooks 8.1). When she's at the police station telling about her life and how she came to abduct little Alice, I almost felt sorry for her. Of course you know that what she did was a horrible thing, but the way Nicola portrayed the character made you feel sympathetic towards her and the reason why she did it.
I can't wait to watch part 2 and 3 and find out what happens next!

No never, because my DVD player is multi regional (thank God). Anyway, I completely forgot to say what I thought of parts 2 and 3. All in all I thought it was a good drama series. The acting of some of the actors was a bit off (the dad for instance), I just couldn't really sympathise with him and he didn't do a very good job in my opinion. But both Nicola and the woman playing the mother (no idea what she's called), were brilliant. Their acting was absolutely top notch! Even though Joanna, Nicola's character, was actually in the wrong here you still felt sorry for her and could sympathise with her because of the hard life she had. Nicola played it so convincingly, definitely an amazing performance!

Inker most lap tops from at least 2006 and on can play multi region dvd's sorry forgot to say that. Now the lap top might only allow for it to do so up to 10 times. I bought a region free dvd player last year because I wanted Spooks early and so I can get some of NW's stuff that you can't find in the states. Not to mention watching some other stuff as well that you can't get in the states.
Back to this NW's performance all in the eyes for sure!

Started to watch this again. I couldn't tell who was acting the socks off who. Holly and Nicola's scenes together are powerful. Really wish Holly was in an ep of Spooks even more so now.

I need to buy this DVD. I haven't seen it yet but it sounds like an emotional ride.

I've watched it and I cried. Very sad but very powerful piece of television. I didn't expect to sympathise quite so much with Nicola's character considering what she had done but I really, really felt for her and in the end I felt just as torn as Alice/Lori. Nicola was absolutely amazing! Holly was also fab. I think this is one of those shows that stays with you for quite a while after you've watched it.

Watched the first part just then. As usual, Nicola does not disappoint. I think I will take a break before the next two parts though.
