Just watched this film that Nicola was in but wasn't in it very much. Her last scene is fantastically acted won't say much if people haven't watched it yet.
Three things that I really liked about this 1. The Costumes: they were very detailed and the colors for each character were chosen perfectly. The small details made a difference between the fabric and patterns. Each costume really added life to the characters. I could go on but this is also what I get for having a friend who is a costume designer and spending loads of time going over this type of stuff.
2. The music had a great blend of a bit of Greek/Italian (i'd have to listen a bit closer) with drums, and melodies. This gave it a different flair for the film which has yet to be down for the time period in a way that actually works.
3. The cinematography was excellent and it also brought out the costumes in my humble opinion. Wonderful usage of color over all.
The acting was really great over all by everyone. Great to see many actors that I recognized from other works. Can't think of the actor's name he played Peter Petigrew in Harry Potter and was in Sweeney Todd the guy is great for playing those types of roles and on such different levels. The kids were cute, and the actress that played Nancy was in an episode of Spooks back in S2.
I'm just glad that I did decide to watch this as I could have when I first saw it on PBS but decided not to at the time. Oops!!! Always great seeing Nicola in something different!!
